Fritz Concepcion Lua

On September 15th , 2020, Fritz Conception Lua passed peacefully in his home in Gretna, LA. He was the beloved husband and lifelong partner to Maria (Maricor) Lua and the loving and devoted father of Marc, Jon, and Dana (Armando) and amazing grandfather to Marciana, Evan, Elise, and Noah. Fritz was the oldest son of the late Lolita Conception Schultz and the late Patricio Lua. He was the caring and dutiful brother of the late Iris Lua, Irma Lua Allan, June Lua Aranas, late May Lua, late Cherry Lua Undag, Rex Lua, Judy Lua Espiritu, and their spouses. He was loved and adored by his nine nieces and nephews: Michelle, Jennifer, Derrick, Jeniffer, Jason, Jill, Christian, Mark, Robyn, and their children. He received his civil engineering degree from the Cebu Institute of Technology where he also met the love of his life, Maria (Maricor), and went on to have a very successful career as a civil engineer for National Power Corporation in the Philippines before he came to the United States and continued his career as an engineer in New Orleans at Design Engineering, Inc. He was a devout Catholic who was devoted to his faith and was a dedicated member of Christ the King church. He was an amazing, compassionate, loving, kind, generous, and very caring person whose heart was filled with endless love and faithfulness to his family, friends, neighbors, and his co-workers whom in turned loved and respected him dearly and often spoke of him as one of God’s angels on earth. Having lost his father early on his life, he was the foundation of unconditional love and the father figure to his siblings, ever present, and guided them with his wisdom, humility, and empathy. To his children and wife, he was the picture-perfect embodiment of a dutiful, loyal, and loving husband; the epitome of a father who had limitless and unconditional love for his children; and endless patience and devotion to his grandchildren who loved, adored him, and will miss their “wowo” dearly. The world is saddened to have lost such a wonderful human being who’s brought so much joy and love to so many, but family and friends should not be dismayed too much for God has called Fritz, his angel on earth, to go back in to his kingdom to guide and watch over us all; patiently awaiting for the day we meet him again with his wonderful smile and open arms in his place in Heaven.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from 11 AM until 1 PM. A Funeral Mass will follow at Christ the King Catholic Church, 535 Deerfield Road, Terrytown, LA at 1:30PM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Due to current conditions, guests are required to wear masks to enter.
