SCPO Frederick Earl Pope, U.S. Navy (Ret.) passed away peacefully at his home on December 1, 2017. He was 82 years of age. Beloved husband of Doris Devin Pope. Father of Stephen B. Pope (Teresa), David W. Pope (Kristy) and the late Pamela Pope. Grandfather of Christopher, Marcus, Pauli, Bradley and Chandler. Son of the late Earl Frederick Pope and Marjorie Stribling Pope. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends.

Frederick was born in Kansas City, KS on November 5, 1935. He attended school at Central Junior High and manual High and Vocation School, both in Kansas City, MO. He also attended Delgado College and University of New Orleans. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and retired in 1983 as Senior Chief after 26 years of dedicated service. He retired from Civil Service in 1998. He received several Letters of Commendation including one from the Chief of Naval Reserve. Frederick was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Harvey, A.A.R.P., Theta Golden Agers and N.A.R.F.E.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 9 AM to 11 AM. Services will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Restlawn Park Cemetery in Avondale, LA.
