Frank Lawrence Gebhardt passed away Monday, January 10, 2022 at the age of 72. Frank was born August 22, 1949 at Hotel Dieu in New Orleans, LA and was 1 of 8 children. He grew up in Gonzales, LA before moving with his family to Harahan, LA. He joined the Merchant Marines at 15 and then the Army at 17 where he would be stationed in Alaska. He received the National Defense Service Medal for his service. When he left the Army, he started his career as a truck driver where he traveled all of the U.S. Frank lived his life to the fullest. Whether that was coming back from un-excused leave with a Camaro or fighting a bear not once, but twice. He loved to cut up and tell jokes and as he would say “cut loose” on the dance floor. Frank was a strong willed, hardheaded man that proudly passed on those traits to his children and grandchildren. Frank always said the greatest accomplishment of his life was his family. He would have done anything for them. And in turn, they would have done anything for him. Frank was preceded in death by his mother, Nell Narrow; stepfather, Tom Narrow; father, Richard Gebhardt; his sisters, Brenda and Pam and brothers, Gilbert, Ricky, and Curtis. He is also preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Bobbie Gebhardt. Frank lives on through his loving family to include his daughter, Heidi Gebhardt Noel (Kevin) and son, Gilbert Gebhardt (Jennifer), grandchildren, brother and sister, nieces and nephews who love and will miss him dearly. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation for Frank Lawrence Gebhardt on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 10AM-11AM at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway in Harvey with burial following at Carrollton Cemetery in New Orleans, LA.
