Francis Neal Hyatt, Sr.

Francis Neal Hyatt, Sr., on Monday, August 31, 2020, spread his wings and took flight home into eternal rest at the age of 81. Neal was born in Morehead City, NC and was a lifelong resident of Plaquemines Parish, LA. Beloved husband of the late Elouise Johnson Hyatt. Cherished father of Marie Hyatt Breland (Rick), Francis N. “Buddy” Hyatt, Jr. (Leslie) and Lori Hyatt Blais (the late Joey). Grandfather of Mary Breland, Katherine Breland, Natalie H. Richardson (Shane), Garret Hyatt, Jaclynn Hyatt, Kenneth, Neal, and Heather Blais. Great-grandfather of Ryan, Zachary, Ethan, Braden Cosse’, Abigail Mahe and Austin Emmons. Brother of the late Lonnie Hyatt (Nettie), Jerry Hyatt (Norma), the late Fred Hyatt (Betty) and Cecil Hyatt (the late Barbara). Son of the late Lonnie Hyatt and Eleanor Frances Willis Hyatt. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He worked for many years with Brown & Root, McDermott, Austal Ship Builders and retired from Tiger Tanks Offshore. He also drove trucks and was known by his friends as “Lighterknott”. He was a proud member of the former Triumph Lodge No. 422 F & AM, 32 Degree Mason, Scottish Rite Bodies and the Rose Croix. He loved to fish, go to the beach and spend time with his family.

Due to current restrictions, private services will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, Harvey, LA.
