Francis Albert Adams

Francis Albert Adams, 100 years old, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at his home in Westwego, Louisiana. Francis was married to the late Edna Lanassa Adams for 76 1/2 years. They had been inducted into the Louisiana Family Forum's Marriage Hall of Fame for being one of Louisiana's longest married couples. Francis is survived by his daughter Joy Adams Beck; his grandchildren Kevin Beck (Tammy), Kitty Beck, Kristel Beck Davis, and Kade Beck (Aubrey); his great grandchildren Kelly Beck Croft (Christopher), Kimberly Beck Bradley (William), Miranda Beck-Bird, Samuel Beck-Bird, Hannah Lorraine Davis, Crystal Blackwell and Maria Blackwell; his great-great grandchildren Mathew Croft, Carson Croft, Allana Croft, Myka Blackwell, Callie Mai Bradley; his loving God children, nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives.
Francis is preceded in death by his son Francis Albert Adams Jr.; his parents Marguerite Bellamore Adams and Joseph Camille Adams, and siblings Conrad, Ferdinand, Manny, Dave, Earl, Simon, Alex, Oderle, Oville, and Lorraine Griffin. Brother-in-law of the late Evelyn and Frederick Lanassa Jr., Evelyn and Francis Sigur.
He was a World War II Veteran having served in the United States Army Medical Corps. He worked at Celotex Corporation, Higgins Boats, and retired as a school bus driver (Bus 269) for Jefferson Parish School Board. Francis was well known throughout Westwego for his generous community service and was a Life Member of the American Legion Post 206 - having served as Commander, Commander of American Legion 2nd District, and Louisiana Department Executive Committee for the American Legion; Life Member – La Societe des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux (40 & 8) Voiture Locale 201, VFW Post 6793, Amvets, Westwego Volunteer Fire Department, Knights of Columbus Council 3091; Member of the City of Westwego's Ernest J. Tassin Senior Citizen Center, Sons of the Confederacy, AARP, and Troop Leader of Boy Scouts of America Troop 200. His passing has left a void in the lives of many.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 1:30 PM. Interment Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, Westwego, LA. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 PM until 9 PM and Saturday from 10 AM until 1:30 PM.
