Floyd J. Porche Sr. passed away peacefully on January 4, 2022 at the age of 80 years. Beloved father of Robin Hebert (Robert), Floyd Porche Jr., and Henry Porche (Tammy). Grandfather of Jessica (Adam), Jason, Tiffany, Elizabeth (Ernesto), Brandi, Crystal, Henry Jr., Katelyn, Logan, and Lauren. Great-grandfather of Kelsey, Ashton, Makayla, Daniel, Makenzi, Brianna, Ernesto Jr., Elena, Rylee, Ayden, Neena, and Mia. Brother of Wilson Porche Jr., Margie Loggins, the late Gertie Breaux, Flossie Thibodeaux, Lottie Perez, Edith Ratliff, Bernice Scavone, Horace Porche, Alvin Porche, Hilton Porche, and Levy Arcement. Son of the late Annie Bergeron Porche and Wilson Porche. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.
Floyd was born and raised in Raceland, LA and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. After earning his degree in Accounting, he worked as an accountant for several businesses and local industry. He was an avid bowler and was a member of local leagues. Floyd was a talented drummer for “The Chiffons” and was inducted to the Westbank Musician’s Hall of Fame. He loved spending time with family and friends and was always willing to help those in need. He will be sadly missed.
A visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Boulevard, Marrero, LA on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 9am to 11am. Services will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, LA
