Federico Martinez, Jr.

On July 26, 2021, Federico Martinez Jr. peacefully passed away in his Belle Chasse home with his family by his side at the age of 70 following complications with diabetes.
He joins his parents, Federico & Porfiria and his brother, Paul in Heaven. He leaves behind his children Eric & Amy (Donnie), his siblings Mary, Roland (Patricia), Hector (Roman), & Sue, his nieces Michelle (Steven Morgan), Emily (Shawn Terrebonne), Andie (Stephen Logan), & Katibeth and his great nieces Sofia and Britain.
Federico "Fred" was born in Beeville Texas on Dec. 20, 1950. At the age of 8 his father, Fred Sr., moved the family to New Orleans, eventually residing on the Westbank. Fred Jr. graduated from West Jeff High and then was drafted in the US Army (1970). After serving his country, Fred earned an MBA from Tulane University which put him on a successful path in healthcare. For a majority of his career, he was the CEO of St. Charles Parish Hospital.
He had a love for 60's soul music, traveling the world and riding motorcycles with his brothers. Fred will be forever remembered for his great sense of humor, generosity and readiness to have a good time.
A memorial will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, Marrero on August 2nd at 11am with a service at 1pm. Attendees are required to wear face mask for the duration of the visitation and services.
