Faye Zimmer Tiemann Dewey

d. December 22, 2021

Faye Zimmer Tiemann Dewey led a life of unconditional love, commitment, and compassion for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, friends, cats and pets, unborn children, patients, animals without loving homes, Drew Brees and her Saints, Tom Jones and The New Orleans Mystics.
Born to Olga and Jacob Zimmer, she was raised in New Orleans with her cousin Peppi Bruneau, who she considers a brother.
Faye was married to Richard Tiemann, Sr in 1956 and became an amazing mother to her children Sheri Raj, Richard Tiemann, Jr, and Suzanne Cupit. She adores their supportive spouses, Anil Raj, Jeannie Tiemann, and Don Cupit.
Mammy, as she is affectionately known, loves and cherishes her grandchildren Jacob Canzoneri, Katrina Walters, Alex Tiemann, Michael Zdenek, Johnny Cupit, Joshua Cupit, Garrett Cupit, Patrick Cupit, Camille Hines, Emile Cupit and Jeffrey Cupit and is thankful for their spouses, fiancée and girlfriends who help their true lights shine.
Mammy loves sharing stories, songs, dances and hugs with her great grandchildren Nora, Liam and Beau Walters and Grayce Cupit.
Through perseverance, hard work, and a passion for life, she has always found ways to achieve goals in her own special way, undeterred by obstacles or age. She entered college at 44 years old, graduated from LSU nursing school in 1986 and gave compassionate care to patients as an ICU/CCU nurse for over 20 years. In 1999 she married Ed Dewey and enjoyed 14 years of devoted love, friendship, and travels until God called him home in 2013.
Faye cherishes her friends, and often discusses the importance of each friend, from her longest friendships to those most recently made. She is eternally grateful for moments of shared laughter and sorrow, pain and pleasure, music and dancing, fun and travel, prayers and faith.
Faye took her final journey home on December 22, 2021. She has often expressed that she hopes to be thought of at this time with joyful memories and smiles and looks forward to being united one day again with all of her loved ones in heaven. She asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your local animal shelter.
A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA 70058. Visitation from 10:30am with Mass at 1:30pm, followed by procession to St. Louis #3 Cemetery, New Orleans, La.
