Eusebe Joseph “E.J.” Melancon, Jr. passed away on Friday, September 25, 2020 at the age of 87. Former husband of Joyce Nettleton. Beloved father of Debra Cheramie (Melvin), Diane Christen (Bill), Donna Barbier (Darren) and Dody Melancon (Tommy). Son of the late Clothilde and Eusebe Melancon, Sr. Brother of the late Rosie Mae Trosclair (Hartie), Irene Taheny (Bob), Roland Melancon (Claire) and Russel Melancon (Lydia). Grandfather of Brooke Vicknair (Todd), Brad Cheramie (Brenda), Chad Christen (Lisa), Bobby Barbier (Kody), Brittany Clark (Vinny), Dustin Touchet (Ashley) and the late Jessica Adams. Great grandfather of Shanley, Rowen, Alexandria, Amanda, Landry, Nate and Nolan. He retired from Avondale Shipyard and enjoyed fishing, dancing, his camp and drinking his Falstaff. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 1pm.
