Estella Lewis Billiot Melancon, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at the age of 81. She is preceded in death by her beloved first husband, Chief John Billiot; her beloved second husband, Wilson” Mel” Melancon, Jr.; her beloved daughter, Karen B. Huetwohl; her loving son-in-law, Greg Chapman; her cherished great- granddaughter, Emma Rose Chapman; her parents and three older brothers. She is the beloved mother of Cathy Chapman and Jeanne Vinet. She is the devoted grandmother of Jennifer Chapman, Lloyd “Chip” Chapman (Robin), Joshua Michael Chapman, Holly Bryan (Justin), Sara Wolever, Rickie James Vinet, III, and Katie Nuccio (Anthony). She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She was a retired nurse with West Jefferson Medical Center for many years. A stranger to none, Estella was a kind and generous lady who opened her heart up to many. She will missed by all who knew and loved her. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 1:30 PM. Interment Hook & Ladder Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM.
