Elmer Joseph Loupe, 78, of Marrero Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 22, 2020 after battling heart disease for the last 17 years. He was surrounded by family and friends. The Memorial service will be held on Tuesday March 3, 2020 at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero. Visitation will be held from 08:30am until 10:00am followed by a Chapel Mass at 10:00am. Interment will be held privately at a later date. Elmer was born to the late Emile Joseph Loupe Sr. and Mae Boudreaux in Lockport, Louisiana on September 1, 1941. He attended West Jefferson High school in Harvey Louisiana. Elmer was married to Helen Vedros. They were married 24 years. Elmer worked as a laborer for several companies. His passion in the kitchen was cooking authentic Cajun dishes and sweets most of all homemade fudge and pralines. Elmer enjoyed guns, gathering with friends and family but most of all Elmer was an EXREME car enthusiast. Elmer spent time after his retirement passing out his homegrown grapefruits and satsumas along with socializing at the local Joe’s Café with his brothers and longtime friends. Elmer is survived by his companion Geraldine Jackson, two children Brady Loupe and Hope LeJeune “Sidney”, five grandchildren Chad Loupe “Krystal”, Brittany LeJeune, Corrine Loupe, Elizabeth Foret, & Abigail Loupe, three great grandchildren Aiden Loupe, Landen Loupe, & Colton Loupe, Three siblings Pete Loupe “Nancy”, Elaine Vedros “Manuel”, & Emile Loupe Jr. “Brenda”, and numerous nieces and nephews.
