September 2, 1927 — January 24, 2019

Ella Grace Todaro, age 91, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on January 24, 2019. She was born September 2, 1927 in Gretna, Louisiana to Clara Arnold Williams and Lawrence Williams. She is preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 66 years, Camille Todaro. She is also preceded in death by her sister Clara Todaro (Vincent) and brother Charles Williams. She is survived by her children Kathleen LaValla (Sam), Russell Todaro (Pam) and Melanie Langteau (Greg), half-sister Dr. Ollie Gatewood (Kenneth); grandchildren Todd LaValla, Christine Breland, Brandy DiMaggio, Russell Todaro Jr., Olivia Thornton, Michael Langteau, Catherine Johnson and Daniel Langteau. Also survived by her brother-in-law Claude Todaro, Vincent Todaro, and sister-in-law Rose Crescionie. Although she was a busy homemaker, she found the time to be a community leader as the President of the Infant Jesus of Prague Altar Society, Homedale Elementary PTA and the John Ehret Booster Club. She enjoyed being church fair chairman at Infant Jesus for many years. Later in life, she was past officer for the Belle Chasse chapter of the AARP and was a longtime member of the Plaquemines Parish Council of Aging. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Belle Chasse. Yet, she was most proud of her work as a CCD teacher at Infant Jesus of Prague and O.L.P.H. She loved to travel, going on over 60 cruises with family and friends. Her true love was her devotion to her family and to God.
In a celebration of life well lived with devotion to God and family, relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on Saturday January 26, 2019 from 9am-11am followed by a Mass and burial at Westlawn Cemetery. The children of Ella Grace have very special thanks to their Aunt Rose and cousin June for their loving help with their mother’s care for the past 4 1/2 years. Since Ella loved children, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital ( www.stjude.org ) in lieu of flowers.
