Elizabeth Ochello Dufrene

Elizabeth Ochello Dufrene of Harvey passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 13, 2021. She was born on April 8, 1929 to Joseph and Madeline Warino Ochello and she joins her beloved husband of 55 years, Cyrus Peter Dufrene in eternal rest. She is survived by her children, Joann Richard Comeaux (Darrel Comeaux and Donald Richard), Ronald A. Dufrene, Sr. (Mary), Denise Holcombe Dorchuck (Phil) and Kim Clements; her grandchildren, Matthew Richard, Christopher Holcombe (Annice), Lindsey Holcombe (Adam), Cody Clements (Karla) and the late Ronald A. Dufrene, Jr. (Nancy); her great grandchildren, Joseph, Abigail and Willow Richard, Emma and Eric Dufrene, William Holcombe, Pierce Douglas and Karmen Clements. She is also survived by her loving sister, Josie Ochello DeSalvo and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a native of Marrero and a lifelong resident of Harvey. Along with her husband, Cyrus, she was the owner and operator of Dufrene Superette Grocery and Apartments for over 30 years. She was a devoted parishioner of Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church in Harvey, LA where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Legion of Mary, the Widows Club and Golden Agers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank the staff of Tranquil Living and Notre Dame Hospice for all of their care and compassion. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church, 700 Maple Street, Harvey, LA. on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 11am. Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy., Harvey, LA on Sunday, July 25, 2021 from 6pm until 10pm and again on Monday morning from 8am until 10:30am. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Family and friends may view and sign the online guest book at www.mothefunerals.com .
