Elden Nunnery passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the age of 96. He was a resident of Gretna, Louisiana. He is a retired Navy Veteran who served in World War II and Korean War. Beloved husband of the late Gladys Nunnery, Lee Nunnery and Laverna Nunnery. Father of Cindy Duhe’, Bradley Nunnery (Sharon), Kris Held and Gretchen Held. Grandfather of Shawn Barrios (Alan), Dana Buhler (Sam), Savannah Nunnery, Erica Cancienne (Ronnie), Chelsea Gaspard (Quinton), Jerry Hegwood III and Kodi Atkins (Shane). Great Grandfather of Samuel Buhler V, Caleb Buhler, Shelby Cancienne, Chloe Cancienne, Emmie (Pepper) Cancienne, Jay Hegwood, Sophie Hegwood, Adelyn Atkins, Hollyn Atkins, Rowen Atkins and Kainen Atkins. Brother of the late Mickey Nunnery. Elden was a member of the American Legion of Gretna and the Knights of Columbus of Gretna. He was also an avid Saints Fan. The family would like to thank Notre Dame Home Health, his Nurse, Jennifer and West Jefferson 5th Floor Nurses and Staff. Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, Louisiana on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 9AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11AM. Interment will be in McDonoghville Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Family and friends may offer condolences at
