Earnestine “Teenie” Dominguez Bird passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 20, 2022. She was 92 years old.
Earnestine is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Robert A. Bird, Jr.; her parents, Josephine and Ernesto Dominguez; her siblings, Ella Quin, Stella Rogers, Joseph “Pappy” Dominguez, Ernest Dominguez Jr., Louis Dominguez, Florence Kelly, Melrose Lobrono, and Josie Dominguez.
She is survived by her three adoring daughters, Karen Molaison (Ray), Robin Talamo (Terry), and Kim Schaefer (Mike), her grandchildren, Terrill Talamo (Shanna), Trey Talamo (Kristen), Shannon Chase (Chris), Ashlyn Schaefer (John) and her great grandchildren, Parker Talamo, Cali, Chloe, Christopher, and Carter Chase and Jonah Breaux. Earnestine is also survived by her two sisters, Marina Ruiz and Diana Baldwin and her brother, Robert John Dominguez (Joann). She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Earnestine grew up in the Irish Channel and she attended Redemptorist High School. She eventually made her way to Terrytown in 1964 where she spent most of her life. She was employed by D.H. Holmes and Sears in the Oakwood Mall in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Earnestine was the perfect hostess and she loved cooking and entertaining. Her door was always open, and no one ever left her house hungry! Earnestine was an avid Saints fan. She loved to talk, dance, laugh, and sing. She never met a stranger. Her presence lit up the room and Earnestine was loved by many. She was a devoted parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church and she was also a member of the Christ the King Women’s Club. Earnestine will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass at Christ the King Church, 535 Deerfield Rd. in Terrytown, La. on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at 12:00pm. The visitation will begin at 10:00am. The interment will immediately follow services in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gretna.
