Darlene Vidal Guidry

Darlene Vidal Guidry of Gretna, LA gained her eternal wings on Monday, July 11, 2022 at the age of 66. Beloved wife of 12 years to William “Porkchop” Guidry. Darlene was born on July 4, 1956 in New Orleans, LA to the late Judy Roane and Ray J. Vidal, Sr. Mother of Bryan P. Chiasson (Rachel), Jeanne Hanks Frisella (Mario-Jap), Suelynn Chiasson Vidrine (John) and stepmother of Marilea G. Black (Kevin) and Kristy Bowers. Grandmother of Lyndzey Chiasson, Aime Grueter (Dylan), Shelby Chiasson, Dominic Frisella, Emily Vidrine, Monica Frisella, Rachel Frisella, and Kayla Coker. Step-grandmother to Joshua Guidry and Paige Robertson. Great Grandmother of Holden Chiasson and 2 on the way. Loving sister to Timothy Vidal, Sr. (Teresa), Louis Vidal (Michelle), Albert Vidal, Sr. (Danielle), the late Neil “Porkchop” Vidal, Susan “Redpop” Dean, Carroll “Fatboy” Vidal, Ray Vidal, Jr., Ivy Loup, Sr., Penny Edler, and Carrie Vidal. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Darlene “Buckwheat” loved spending time with family and friends playing cards and eating snacks. She worked at Picadilly Café for over 20 years before retiring and opening a lawn care and landscaping business. She had a passion for gardening and definitely had a green thumb. In her spare time, she would go thrift shopping and to garage sales where she would always pick up something for everyone. She loved playing bingo and meeting new people. Her love for her grandchildren was immeasurable. Anyone who knew Darlene knew she loved and cared for everyone, and she would do anything for those she loved. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by all. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 1 PM. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until funeral time. Interment will be private.
