Curtis Ray Pitts

Curtis Ray Pitts passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Mary Montero Pitts for 40 years. Father of Curtis Ray Pitts, Jr and Stephanie Elise Pitts. Son of the late Effie Mae and Curtis Pitts. Brother of the late Dorothy Jean Nichols and Martha Kingsley. Grandfather of Cheri Fincher, Parker Ray Serignet, and Owen Lawrence Serignet. Uncle of Cynthia Nichols Child, George Nichols, Austin and Eddie Kingsley, Vera Stringer, Ann Wood, Billie Sue Martin and Effie Mae Rushing and Madeline Smith. He retired from Boland Marine and Manufacturing in New Orleans, loved fishing, shrimping, football and boxing and country music. He was a native of Wesson, Mississippi and a resident of Marrero, Louisiana. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Gretna Covenant Church, 101 11th Street, Gretna, LA 70053 on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 11am. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30am until 11am. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Gretna Covenant Church or JPAWS jeffersonparishspca.org.
