Curtis Anthony Abadie entered the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at the age of 76. He was born in New Orleans, La on February 13, 1945 to the late Herbert Abadie Sr and the late Clothilde Schouest Abadie. Curtis was a life long resident of Westwego.
Curtis was a retired welder of Union Carbide, Avondale-Westwego and Main Yard. He was known as "Rev" or "Preacher Man" because he was always preaching the love of God to everyone he met. Curtis enjoyed fishing, gardening, swinging under the oak tree, and woodworking. He even built his own home. Curtis loved to spend his time with his family and he especially loved making his grandchildren and his great grandchildren laugh whenever he could. He truly is a hero and a rolemodel to all of his children. Curtis will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Curtis Anthony Abadie is survived by his loving, caring, and devoted wife of forty nine years, Cheryl Bourgeois Abadie; his children, Shelley Abadie Winters (Russell), Troy Abadie (Pam), John Abadie (late Amy), James Abadie (Dana), Stephanie McLean (David), and Peter Abadie (Alexandrea); his grandchildren; Lacie, Jade (Chad Martin), Whitney, Kassie, Sophia, John Jr., Shiloh, Greyson, and Rhys; his great grandchildren, Kaylie, Kylan, Amrie, Chad III, Kade, and Walker. Curtis is also survived by his siblings, Herbert "Zeke", Douglas, Thomas and Debra.
Curtis Abadie is preceded in death by both of his parents, Hebert Abadie Sr and Clothilde Schouest Abadie; and his brother, Carl Sr. "Black".
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at Hosanna Fellowship Church, 2215 Barataria Boulevard, Marrero, LA on September 18, 2021 from 11am until 1pm. Funeral services will follow.
