Clarence Lawrence Michel

Clarence Lawrence Michel, age 75, a resident of Gretna, LA, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022.
Clarence Lawrence Michel was born September 16, 1946, in New Orleans, LA, the fifth child of eight children of Percy Michel and Hilda Solar Michel Landry. He was a lifelong resident of the Westbank. A veteran who served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a specialist 4 as a supply handler. Clarence was awarded the following medals, National Defense Service Medal, SPS M-14 Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Bronze Star and the Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device. He retired from Avondale Shipyard, Inc. as a welder where he worked for over 40 years. He was a member of YMBC (Young Men’s Business Club). He loved fishing and being with his family and friends.
Clarence is survived by his ex-wives Barbara Creduer Lewis Michel and Eliska Michel; stepdaughter Robin Lewis Kauffman (Craig); Son Joshua Michel, Sr. (Sharon); Daughter Nicole Michel Bell; granddaughters Taylor Ayers Kasper (Randy); Gabrielle Bell (Alex); Grandsons Joshua Michel Jr. and Karson Michel. Great-grandchildren Emma, Carter, Pierce and Beckett Kasper. Brothers David Michel (Carolyn), Benny Michel (Hilda), and sister Catherine Michel Boudoin. Also, stepchildren and grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Daisy Michel, his parents, brothers Carroll Michel (Mary), Jessie Michel (Barbara), sisters Jane Michel Hernandez (Joseph), Rena Michel Windhorst (Rory), and brother-in-law Joseph Boudoin, Sr.
Family, friends of the family, and co-workers are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 2pm-6pm at the YMBC (Young Men’s Business Club) 1327 East Dr., Westwego, LA 70094. Refreshments will be served.
