Christopher Blaise "Chris" Edwards

Christopher Blaise “Chris” Edwards was born to the late Daniel Boone Edwards and Catherine Murphy Burke Edwards in New Orleans, LA on August 12, 1965. He joined his Lord and Savior on April 11, 2021 after a year-long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Deidra Kepler Edwards; his son William Blaise Edwards; his daughter Catherine Alecta Edwards; his brother Benjamin Dudley Edwards (Kathleen Prendergast); and his nephew Benjamin Edwards (Emily). He graduated from St. Julian Eymard School Elementary School in Algiers, Jesuit High School, the University of Notre Dame and Tulane University School of Law. He practiced law in Gretna for 30 years. He was a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Jefferson Bar Association and the Westbank Rotary Club. He volunteered as the Cubmaster of Scout Troop 393, and as Chairman of the Board of the Belle Chasse Academy. He was a longtime member of the Krewe of Alla. Chris was an incredible friend to those who knew him. He was known for bringing laughter though sometimes questionable jokes at the office. He enjoyed helping people in need, fishing, traveling, collecting wine, Jazz Fest, Mardi Gras, but most of all he enjoyed being with family and friends. Chris was truly special in many ways. He battled cancer showing tremendous strength and maintained a positive disposition until the end. He will be dearly missed. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 11am at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 3101 Eton Street, Algiers, LA. A Memorial Visitation will be held at the church on Friday morning from 9am until 11am. Everyone attending are required to wear face coverings.
