Charles Edward Wilson Sr.

April 29, 1926 — January 31, 2018

Charles Edward Wilson Sr., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the age of 91. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Meryl Leckie Wilson; his parents, William Wilson and Beulah Pebley Wilson; and his siblings, David Wilson, William Wilson and Clarence Wilson. He is the beloved father of Charles Wilson Jr., Deborah Wilson, Irma “Jeanie” Crouchet, Joseph ‘Ducky” Wilson and Susan Wilson. He is the devoted grandfather of David, Charlie, Josh, Alicia, Bruce, Shelly, Amy, Tracey, Brad, Goldie, Meryl, Carl, Kelly, Chet and Katie. He is the devoted great grandfather of 28 great grandchildren. He is the loving brother of Jack Wilson and Beulah Harrison. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Born April 29, 1926 in Birmingham, Alabama, Charles moved to New Orleans in his teens and attended Warren Easton High School. He served his country proudly in the US Navy during World War II. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Gathering of Family and Friends on Monday, February 5, 2018 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA. Private Family Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
