Chadwick "Chad/Chet" Wayne Walls died unexpectedly on December 28, 2020 in New Orleans, LA at the age of 49. Chad is survived by his parents, Doyle Walls and Linda Fortenberry Walls; wife Christina Morgan Walls; children Miranda Walls; step-children Ashlynn Allemore and Alyssa Allemore; siblings Judy Howard (Bill), Lisa Walls, Eddie Walls and predeceased by Kathy Douglas (Don); as well as survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Chad was born on October 27, 1971 in Hammond, LA to Doyle and Linda Walls. He attended and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University. Chad returned home to the New Orleans area and married Christina Morgan Walls, the love of his life and his Mardi Gras Queen.
Chad was commissioned as a Naval Officer who held the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He proudly served on multiple deployments aboard many US Navy ships and most recently as a Navy Trauma Nurse in the Afghanistan Campaign and New York City as part of the US Covid-19 Disaster Response. While in the Navy Reserves, Chad worked as a Senior Sales Executive at NextGen and McKesson Corporation for many years.
Lieutenant Commander Walls received many honors and letters of commendation during his service in the US Navy including Navy Commendation Medal (1), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (2); Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal (1), Armed Forces Reserve Medal Officer (1), Good Conduct Medal (2), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal (1), Joint Meritorious Unit Award (1), Navy Rifle Marksmanship (1), Meritorious Unit Commendation (1), Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon (1), NATO Medal (1), National Defense Service Medal (2), Navy “E” Ribbon (1), Southwest Asia Service Medal (1), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2), and Navy Expert Pistol Shot Medal (1). He was also a dedicated member of many organizations including 32nd Degree Master Mason and Knights of Columbus.
Chad was a generous and caring individual who spread love, happiness and a contagious smile as well as left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He was an active and dedicated member of the Catholic Church and spent his time lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Chad lived his life to the fullest with his family and friends doing his favorite things such as camping, fishing, boating, cheering on the LSU Football team and advocating for his country.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Visitation at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Belle Chasse, LA on Monday, January 4, 2020 from 11 AM until Funeral Mass time at 1:30 PM. A Masonic Service will be held at 1 PM followed by Words of Remembrance. Interment Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Belle Chasse, LA. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, masks must be worn.
