CECILIA KASS WATTIGNEY entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at the age of 87. She was a native of Gretna, LA and a resident of Our Lady of Wisdom Healthcare since December, 2018. Beloved wife of 41 years to the late Beauregard J. Wattigney, Sr. Loving mother of
Kass (Jessie), Cynthia W. Oddo Adam (Bronson), Keith, Sr. (Patti), Jeaneva W. Candies (Marty), Floyd (Terry), Faith, and her late sons, John L. and Beauregard, Jr. Devoted MawMaw to 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 1 late great grandson. Daughter of the late Jeanette Gaudet and John W. Kass. Preceded in death by brothers, Lawrence and Joseph (Josephine) Kass, and sister, Lucille K. Navarre (Walter). Sister-in-law of Barbara H. Kass. She is also survived and loved by many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. Cecilia loved God and her family. She wanted to love and be loved, to respect and be respected. She believed in kisses to say hello, kisses to say goodbye – kisses for whatever. Hugs were shared freely with all. She was always smiling, and will be sincerely missed and forever loved.
Our family would like to express sincere appreciation and gratitude to the healthcare professionals at Our Lady of Wisdom Healthcare, who’s comfort, care, compassion, and empathy were shared freely throughout our mother’s residency. A wake will be held in Cecilia’s honor on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey LA from 6PM until 10PM. On Friday, October 29, 2021, visitation followed by a Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Martha Catholic Church, 2555 Apollo Drive, Harvey LA from 9AM until 11AM. Interment will follow at McDonoghville Cemetary, Gretna LA. In lieu of flowers, donations made in her memory to Our Lady of Wisdom Activities Department are respectfully requested and appreciated.
