Carroll James "C.J." Prejean

Carroll James “C.J.” Prejean, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his loving sons, Ray Prejean and Daniel Prejean; his grandson, Stephen Vix; his parents, Anne Prejean and Elphage Prejean; his siblings, Millie Leathem, and Roy Prejean. He is the beloved husband of 68 years of June Oser Prejean. He is the cherished father of Jan Cooper (Jim), Cynthia Voisin, Lainy Vix (Skip), Neil Prejean (Libby), and Luanne Neeb (Dave). He is the devoted grandfather of Josh Cooper (Kelley), Jessi Merlo (Esty), Nicole Cayton (Stewart), Monique Burnell (Tim), B.J. Prejean, Ashley Arendt (Caleb), Stephanie Vix, and Becky Valentino (Chris). He is the loving great grandfather of 8 great-grandchildren. He is the loving brother of Jean Hunter (Bernie). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends, especially the Hebert family. An avid handyman, C.J. could fix anything. He enjoyed flying, camping, and above all spending quality time with his friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Friday, December 28, 2018 beginning at 9:00 AM followed by a Memorial Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA.Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gretna. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Wounded Warriors Project.
