Carolyn A. Salamone, age 87, blessedly and peacefully passed on peacefully Thursday, 3 March 2022 at her home in Belle Chasse. Carol was born in Sunny Hill, LA, 21 May, 1934. On 05 November, 1960 she was united in marriage to Frank M Salamone. Carol graduated from Southeastern University in 1953 and then trained at LSU to land a job at Charity Hospital. Carol worked serving the community of New Orleans for 33 years at Charity Hospital retiring as the Head Medical Technologist. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Carol and Frank had a passion for LSU baseball and attended many games with family and friends. Carol loved knitting, sewing, gardening, flowers and had a passion for cooking. Some of her favorites were pound cakes and king cakes made from scratch. Sundays were usually highlighted with homemade Italian dishes such as spaghetti and meatballs and homemade bread. She is preceded in death by her husband Frank Salamone of 57 years. Carol is survived by her son, Eric Salamone married to (Elizabeth); her daughters, Aileen Salamone and Leslie Defley (Michael); her grandchildren, Eliza Defley and Sarah Defley, brother Patrick Alford; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents Cat and Tressie Alford, she was preceded in death by two siblings Sue McDaniel and Jane Alford. Carol will be missed beyond measure.
A visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 10am to 2pm. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel.
