Carl T. Hunter

Carl T. Hunter, a devoted husband, son, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at the age of 88. Beloved and loving husband of Thelma Oncale Hunter for 65 years. Son of the late Morris Hunter, Sr. and Nora Trosclair Hunter. Loving and devoted father of Holly H. McNaughton (the late Jim), Tobey L. Hunter (Terri), Robin H. Patek (Bobby) and Beth H. Marshall (George). Beloved grandfather of Lauren, Lana, Joshua, Jessica, Cole, Jacob and Thomas. Loving Great Grandfather of Helena, Cameron, Olivia, Benjamin and Miles. Brother of Debra Savoie and the late Doris Blanda, Audrey Banquer, Morris Hunter, Jr., Farrell Hunter and Daniel Hunter. Carl is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and was a lifelong resident of Marrero. He worked at Avondale Shipyard for over 30 years. He served his country while enlisted in the United States Army. Carl was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and an active parishioner of Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church in Marrero. The family of Carl would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Fr. Jude Emunemu and Fr. Mike Kettenring for the blessings and comfort they brought to Carl and his family and to the many dedicated healthcare workers who assisted in his care. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church, 3500 Ames Blvd., Marrero, Louisiana on Saturday, May 29, 2021 from 9AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church on Saturday at 11AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, Louisiana.
