Brenda J Hingle

Brenda Joseph Hingle, born on November 13, 1941, to the late Myrl Lincoln Hingle and the late Joseph P. Hingle, passed away at the age of 80 on September 9, 2022, at her home on Camp Street in New Orleans.
Brenda dearly loved her children, Jerri Denise Bubrig and Joseph Scott Bubrig who sadly preceded his mother in death in July of 2020. Brenda’s husband and the children’s father, Gerald G. Bubrig, a Plaquemines Parish policeman was killed in the line of duty in 1965.
She is survived by her son-in-law, James E. Singletary and her sister, Linda Hingle Rhodes. Their “baby” sister, Lana Jean Hingle (Stockstill) died in February 2022.
Brenda is also survived by nieces, nephews, and stepchildren, Pamela Thibodaux Boudreaux and Donald “Bubba” Thibodaux Jr. She was gifted at making friends and keeping them for decades. She adored her “6-Pack” and other special lifelong friends.
Her days as a boarding student at Ursuline Academy instilled in her good work ethics and character. She learned at the hands of her father the means to operate an offshore catering business. In 1989, she became president and sole owner of ART Catering Inc., a company that began as a three-way partnership in 1979. At its height, she had near 500 employees working offshore, as well as in the warehouse. She knew all 500 names and usually the wife and kids' names, too. The company continues to operate on a smaller scale today due to the loyalty of faithful employees who have continued their selfless duties during her ill health.
Family and friends are invited to a burial service at St. Patrick Catholic Church Cemetery in Port Sulphur, Louisiana at 12:00 noon on Friday, September 23. There will also be a Memorial Mass at 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 24 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 724 Camp Street in New Orleans, followed by a Celebration of Life at her home.
