Bonnie Defee Daigle passed away peacefully on July 30, 2021 at the age of 83. She was the loving wife of 59 years to Ronald P Daigle. Beloved mother of Carolyn Daigle Steel and Douglas Paul Daigle. She was the mother in law of Deacon Kevin Steel and Sherie D Daigle. Loving Grandmother “Granny” to Matthew G Steel, Michael P Steel and Ryan P Daigle. Great Grandmother to Olivia, Julie and Dominic Steel. Sister of Geraldine Daye, and the late Laverne Defee and John Mitchell Defee.
She was born on January 20, 1938 in Oak Grove, Louisiana to the late Minnie F Smith and G Arthur Defee. She was a 1956 graduate of Ouachita High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics from Northeastern Louisiana of Monroe in 1960. She started her career with Louisiana Power & Light in Donaldsonville, Louisiana as a Demonstrator of Electronic Equipment. She met her husband while working for L P & L and were married in 1962. She moved to Harvey, LA in 1965 and raised her family and worked in a supervisory position with L P & L. In 1990 she moved to Cocodrie, LA when her husband retired with Entergy and enjoyed living on the bayou, fishing and being a member of the local homemakers club. Bonnie loved to cook and entertain both family and friends, everyone enjoyed everything she cooked and her hospitality. She also enjoyed her days in both Harvey and Cocodrie working in her gardens. In 2009, she and her husband moved to safer grounds in Hahnville, living on the bayou became tough dealing with hurricanes.
She was a dedicated wife, mother, mother in law, granny and great grandmother. She made sure everyone was taken care of and had what they needed. She loved her pets, Magnum, Holly and Max they were her companions, she cared for them as they were her children. She lived a good life and is at peace, no more suffering. The family would like to thank Heart of Hospice, Heart of Hospice Respite Care at East Jefferson and Ashton Manor for the care that was given to Bonnie the past year.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Service at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Rd., in Destrahan LA on Monday, August 2, 2021 at 12pm. Visitation will begin at 9:30AM. Interment will follow at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery. Please visit
