Mrs. Betty Fay Lackey Turner

Betty Fay Lackey Turner was born in Memphis TN on Sept. 22, 1942. She was born to her late parents, Leonard and Neva Lackey and she was raised in New Orleans. Betty resided in New Orleans from 1946 to 1960, when she moved to the Westbank of New Orleans. She lived her remaining years in Terrytown, with her husband Thomas. Betty was an exceptionally talented artist who enjoyed painting, sculpting, writing, upholstering furniture, making Mardi Gras costumes, and baking cakes of all kinds. She never met a stranger and always had a smile on her face. She gained her heavenly wings while at her home surrounded by her loving family. She will be greatly missed but, we know she is reunited with her family members in heaven. May she rest in peace.

Betty Is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Thomas Turner; her children, Thomas Turner Jr. and Susan Ann Turner, her sisters: Elizabeth Lackey Howell (late Cyril Lackey) and Dorothy Lackey Thompson (J.W. Thompson); and her twin brother, Bobby Ray Lackey (Dolores Lackey). Betty is also survived by her three grandchildren; Thomas Ryan Turner, Taylor Jonathan Turner, and Ashton Ray Ball and her nieces and nephews, Cindy Gentry Shumpert, Bobby Lackey, Syl Turner, Kelly Turner Rennier, Barry Gentry, Mike Turner, Steve Lackey, Cathy Turner Smith, Patrick (P.J.) Turner, Stacy Turner Bankston, Nicole Lackey, Mandy Jones Limbert, and Ken Jones.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard W. Lackey and Neva Olee Easley Lackey, and her brother, William (Billy) Lackey (Tana Lackey).

Family and Friends are invited to attend a funeral service for Mrs. Betty Fay Lackey Turner on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 3pm in the chapel at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA, 70058. Visitation will begin at 1pm. Due to Covid19 restrictions, face masks/coverings are required and social distancing will be implemented.
