Betty Jane Schexnaydre Dematteo

Betty Jane Schexnaydre DeMatteo passed away peacefully on January 12, 2019 at the age of 84 years. Beloved wife of the late Dave Joseph DeMatteo. Mother of Dave Joseph DeMatteo Jr. (Jamie) and Michael Gerard DeMatteo (the late Gail). Grandmother of Amanda (Chad), Brandon (Jenni), Andrew, Davey, Caleb, Lacie (David), Christine (Charles) and Robin (Jimmy). Great-grandmother of Gavin, Marcelene, Valerie, Lindsey, Billy, Charles, Julliette, Catherine, Alex, Hailee, Gracie, Evan, Cameron and Colleen. Sister of James Schexnaydre, Albert Schexnaydre (Nora), Elma Rose Lavergne (the late Theodore “Buddy”) and the late Thaddeus Schexnaydre (the late Eve). Daughter of the late Leone Faucheux Schexnaydre and Denis Thomas Schexnaydre. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends.

Betty was a longtime resident of Westwego, LA and was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Westwego. She enjoyed collecting dolls.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 9am to 11am. A Funeral Mass will follow. Interment Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in Westwego.
