Berthel Plaisance Lopez, age 93, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2022. Loving wife of the late Jaime Lago Lopez for 69 years. Mother of Gayle Lopez Aucoin (the late Robert Sr.), Angalia Lopez Broom (the late Roger), and Manuel James Lopez. Grandmother of Jill Aucoin Ritzmann (Steven), Tammy Aucoin Piglia (Ronald), Robert C. Aucoin, Jr. (Nicole), Rochelle Broom, Ericke Broom (Joy). Great-grandmother of Eva Aucoin. Berthel was born on June 8, 1929 to the late Jules Plaisance and the late Theresa Guidry Plaisance. Sister of Alice Plaisance Biddle, the late Aline Plaisance Taravella, the late Ludger Plaisance, the late David Plaisance, and the late Danny Plaisance. She will be dearly missed by all. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service at 10AM at Holy Name of Mary Church, 400 Verret St., in Algiers, LA on Saturday, August 13, 2022. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Ave., in Gretna, LA.
