Bertha Solet Gibson

Bertha Solet Gibson entered into eternal rest on November 13, 2021 at the age of 88. Beloved wife of F Marx Gibson. Daughter of the late Jean Baptiste Solet and Lana Solet. Loving mother of Katie M. Trosclair (Roger), Michelle G. Cappiello (Mark), Charles M. Gibson, Francis Marx Gibson (Michelle), and the late Kenneth Trosclair (Survived by Etta). Grandmother of Toby Trosclair (Kami), Ty Trosclair, John Buie, Michael Cappiello (Heather), Kim Tran, Matthew Damico (Jodi), Mason Cappiello (Mary), Isabel Gibson and Samuel Marx Gibson. Great Grandmother of Owen, Olivia, Luke, Slyde and Lauren Trosclair; Alyssa and Ashton Buie; Aedyn, Quinn and Deklan Cappiello; Mila and Adalynn Damico; Jessie James and Gabrielle Guidry. Sister of the late John Solet, Elda S. Fitch, Ida S. Billiot, Theresa S. Solet, Mary S. Pierre, Antoinette S. Trahan, and Rita Solet. Mrs. Gibson was born in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana and was a resident of Marrero, Louisiana for the past 68 years. She was one of the founders of the Hemophilia Foundation and worked for West Jefferson Hospital for 28 years as a surgery nurse, a burn unit nurse, and then physical therapy. She also worked for Immaculate Conception Church Parish, Mothe Funeral Home as a funeral assistant, and for the Golden Opportunity Volunteer program at Ochsner Main Campus. She will be deeply missed by all.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 9 AM until 11 AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, Louisiana.
