Bert Rapp, a true pillar of the Waggaman community, is finally resting in God's arms. At 72, he passed on the morning of August 4th, of a heart attack at his home in Waggaman, Louisiana.
He is survived by his loving wife Joy Rapp, his children Jeremy (Wendy), Jared (Brittney), his grand children Brit-lea (Bradley), Victoria (Brandyn), Sydneigh, Austin, Matthew, Isabelle, and Evangeline and his great grandchildren, Remy and Adelynn. He is the son of the late Hubert Joseph Rapp Sr and Clare Sykes Rapp. His surviving siblings include, Dennis, Carl, Karen, Charles, and the late David Rapp. Bert Rapp was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and an inspirational mentor. Bert truly lived a life through the simplest of pleasures; fishing, pitching horseshoes, and running. His free time was filled with men's softball, being a loyal member of the Waggaman Jaycees. He was also the founder and Head Coach of the Waggaman Boxing Club. He was a huge LSU fan, he loved football but especially LOVED baseball. Bert has touched so many lives over the years. No Services will take place. A Celebration of Life, soon to follow. We will make sure the information is spread so that all who wish to attend may do so.
