Barbara Robinson Couturier
July 5, 1941 — April 25, 2021
Barbara Robinson Couturier passed away peacefully on April 25, 2021 at her home. She was 79 years old. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Raymond Couturier. They were married for 35 years and we take great comfort in knowing that he was waiting for her at the pearly gates. Mother of Craig Couturier (Melissa), Danielle Couturier (Chad) and Derek Couturier. Grandmother of Nathan, Kara (Todd), Tyler, Caden, Cohen, Mason, Sebastian, Christian and Katelynn (Harris). Great-grandmother of Collins Grace and Kaysen Rodney. Daughter of the late William Robinson and Gladys Pickett Robinson. Also survived by many loving relatives and friends, including her best friends of 70 years, Dona Cotter and Donna Crabtree.
Barbara was born in Melrose, MA, grew up in Saugus, MA and resided in Terrytown, LA. for over 50 years. She worked at the former Metropolitan Developmental Center in Belle Chasse for many years. Barbara was an avid Willie Nelson fan, who she often referred to as “her boyfriend”. Her favorite past time was spending time with her grandkids. She bragged on them to everyone she spoke to and often said they were her life. You may have seen her in her minivan with the customized plate proclaiming “IAMMEME” to the world. She loved her years being the carpool MeMe at St. Cletus School.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Monday, May 3, 2021 from 10:30am to 11am. Memorial Services will follow in the funeral home chapel.
Respectful of current guidelines, all attendees must wear their own mask/face covering and practice distancing. The family would like to thank Passages Hospice for their kindness and caring during this time. We would also like to thank the many neighbors and friends that stepped in to help care for her during her last days.
