September 29, 1942 — October 10, 2021

Barbara (Bobbie) Mae LaBorde Talamo passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at the age of 79. She was surrounded by her husband, daughter and family at her daughter’s home in Asheville, North Carolina. Bobbie was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and grew up in Marksville, Louisiana. At the age of 17, she moved back to New Orleans to work at the Times-Picayune. She met Charles, her husband and the love of her life, at a “Backwards Dance,” and they were married at Immaculate Conception Church in Marrero on January 25, 1964. Their marriage has been an inspiration to family and friends for 57 years. Bobbie and Charles lived in Crown Point for the past 42 years in a home that they built together. She is predeceased by her parents Eddie Paul LaBorde and Ollie Mae Brouillette LaBorde, her sister Patricia LaBorde Medine and her brother Wayne Michael LaBorde. Bobbie was a wonderful wife and mother and is survived by her devoted husband, Charles Harold Talamo, her loving daughter, Chalayne Talamo Love, her son-in-law Steven Russell Love, and her three grandsons: Christopher Steven, Matthew Charles and Michael Edward, of whom she was so proud. Bobbie was also a faithful servant of God with a special devotion to Our Lady and was a recipient of the Order of St. Louis award. A talented seamstress and a terrific cook, Bobbie enjoyed crafting, creating and sharing her talents with family and friends. Bobbie and Charles enjoyed dancing and showed off that love on the dance floor. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
