Barbara Ann Boutte Adam

November 20, 1945 — May 18, 2022

Barbara Ann Boutte Adam passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, on the morning of May 18, 2022. Barbara was born in Lafitte, La to the late Ernest and Cecile Boutte on November 20, 1945.
Barbara was a loving, dedicated, and loyal wife and mother, who was loved dearly by her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Barbara has just learned of the impending arrival of her second great grandchild, and she was anxiously waiting to find out the sex of the baby. She worked as a cook at the Piggly Wiggly in Lafitte for many years, but her favorite job was taking care of her family and being a homemaker. Barbara was loved by everyone she met, and she was often referred to as an “Angel on Earth”. She always had a smile on her face and kind words for everyone. Barbara was a people person, everyone was drawn to her loving, kind demeanor. She was a devoted Catholic who prayed the Rosary daily and simply adored the Blessed Mother. Barbara praised God until she took her last breath.
Barbara is survived by her three children, Bambi Townsend (Late Joe), Leslie Rieskind (Norman), and Alvin Adam III (Tina); her grandchildren, Jessica Lirette (Loney), Ashley Blanchard (Brandon), and Savannah Rieskind (Nick); her great granddaughter, Mila Blanchard and one more great grandchild on the way. She is also survived by her siblings, Roland Boutte (Glenda) and Charlotte Jones, as well as her brother in laws, Wesley Adam (Lisa) and Adrian “Ed” Adam, plus a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Alvin J Adam Jr; her parents, Ernest Boutte and Cecile Parria Boutte; and her siblings, Manuel Boutte (Vera), Golden Boutte, Joann Schiffler (Earl), Melvin Boutte, and Clarence Boutte.
