Arthur N.J. Bourgeois

Arthur N.J. Bourgeois passed away peacefully at his home with his children by his side on January 6, 2022. Beloved husband of 70 years to the late Joretta Walker Bourgeois. Loving father of Michael Bourgeois (Mary), Michelle B. Akin (the late Bill), Karla M. Bourgeois, and the late Glen P. Bourgeois. Grandfather of Celeste B. Tracy (Danny). Great-grandfather of Jacob Orin Tracy and Sara Grace Tracy. Brother of the late Lennox J. Bourgeois (the late Lillian), Bowman Bourgeois (Marilyn), and Carroll Bourgeois (Delia). Son of the late Laura Hebert Bourgeois and Lennox J. Bourgeois Sr. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Arthur was born on April 5, 1928 in Gramercy, LA and resided in Harvey, LA for the last 65 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He later worked at Avondale Industries. He was a member of the Banter Fraternity, Westwego VFW Post and faithful parishioner of St. Rosalie Church for 60 years.

Arthur was a wonderful husband and father and will be remembered as a man devoted to his Catholic faith.

In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Rosalie Catholic Church, 600 2nd Avenue, Harvey, LA on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 9am to 11am. A Funeral Mass will follow. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park.

Respectful of current guidelines, all attendees should wear their own mask/face covering and practice distancing.
