Anthony Henry Christiana Jr.

Anthony Henry Christiana, Jr. passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018. Beloved father of Casey Christiana Guidry (Chase). Grandfather of Caden Michael and Carter Anthony Guidry. Son of the late Anthony Christiana, Sr. and Julia Perlander Christiana. Survived by his companion Kelli Soileau Vedros and her children Emily and Ian Vedros. Godfather of Stella Christiana. Mentor of Blake Donewar and Allison Christiana. Also survived by his dear Uncle Frank Christiana, Sr. (Cynthia), loving Christiana and Zwiche cousins, and countless extended family and close friends. Age 58 years and a lifelong resident of Gretna, LA. Anthony began his career at a young age working with his family at Christiana Bros. and F. Christiana and Co. He joined David Crockett Fire Department as a junior firefighter and still holds the title of lifelong member. After finding his passion for serving the community, Anthony began his career at the City of Gretna Police Department in 1981 until present day having achieved the honor and rank of Deputy Chief of Police. He also served on numerous task forces, private sector executive security, and formed his own company of Christiana and Associates. He taught Executive Protection Institute courses worldwide. He traveled the world with Jetset Sports and Cosports providing protection for numerous Olympic Games and dignitary protection. He worked with one of the world's greatest artists, providing personal and venue security for musician Sir Paul McCartney for 17 years. Gretna Fest's success over the years was made possible with his efforts. The family would like to thank MD Anderson, Touro Infirmary, Dr. Charles Thomas , Total Home Health Care of Gretna and Dolores Jambon Leaber, his personal nurse for their care and support.
Relatives and Friends of the Family, Employees of the City of Gretna Police Department, all City of Gretna Employees, Members of the Davy Crockett Fire Department are invited to attend the Visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church 610 6th St., Gretna, LA on Sunday, November 25, 2018 from 5 PM until 8 PM. Visitation will resume at church Monday, November 26, 2018 from 8:30 AM until Funeral Mass time at 12:10 PM. Interment will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
