Amelia Marie Allemand Whitted

Amelia Marie Allemand Whitted, was born on February 18, 1945 and went to be with her Heavenly Father on August 5, 2021 at the age of 76 years.

Beloved wife of 47 years to Thomas R. Whitted. Mother of the late Thomas R. Whitted, Jr. Step-mother of James N. Whitted and Clif Whitted (Holly). Daughter of the late Luke Allemand and Marie Delaune Allemand. Sister of Michael Allemand (Irma). Grandmother of Trevor T. Whitted and Riley J. Whitted. Step-grandmother of Haley Whitted, Josh Miller, Allison Whitted Downing (Cody), Caitlyn, Jolie and Jason Whitted. Great-grandmother of Alexander “Alex”, McKenly and Kenny. Godmother of Angela Galjour, Brian Casey and Donna Marie Portier.

Amelia was born in New Orleans, LA and was a lifelong resident of Westwego, LA. She was the Director of Housing Authority for the City of Westwego from 1963 to 1993 and following her retirement, continued to work in real estate until December 2019. Affectionately known to many as “MeMe”, she loved to work with and help people. She touched the lives of so many during her years that while her passing is sorrowful, her life and legacy will be celebrated.

In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred.

The Memorial Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Boulevard, Marrero, LA on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 from 9am to 11am. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in the funeral home chapel. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park.
