Alvin “Baby Boy” Julius Adam Jr passed away peacefully at his home in Marrero on February 22, 2022, at the age of 74. He was born in Lafitte, La to Alvin J Adam Sr and Esther P Adam on November 13, 1947.
Alvin is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara Boutte Adam; his adoring children, Bambi Townsend (late Joe), Leslie Rieskind (Norman), and Alvin Adam III (Tina); his siblings, Adrian Adam “Ed”, and Wesley Adam (Lisa), along with his three granddaughters, Jessica Lirette (Loney), Ashley Blanchard (Brandon), and Savannah Rieskind (Nick); and his great granddaughter, Mila Blanchard. Alvin is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Adam Sr. and Esther P. Adam.
Alvin worked at Avondale Shipyard for 25 years and he served our country in The United States Army for 8 years. He loved fishing and hunting, carving ducks, making rosaries and bird houses. Alvin was always working on some type of hobby. There was nothing he could not do. Whatever he did, it was done to perfection.
Alvin lived for his family. He loved to spoil his wife, his children, grandchildren, and his great granddaughter. Even Princess, his yorkie of nine years, was loved and spoiled. Princess was the light of his life. Alvin J Adam Jr “Baby Boy” will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Monday, February 28, 2022, at 1pm at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church. A visitation will begin at 11am. Interment will immediately follow the Mass at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna, La.
