Allyson Marie Kirby, 34, a native of Empire, LA and a resident of Mathews, LA since Hurricane Katrina, transitioned to that place where every tear will be wiped from her eyes and where there is no more death nor mourning, wailing or pain (Rev. 21:4), on February 4, 2021 as a result of the cruel ravages of COVID-19. She is survived by her loving parents, John Edward and Lydia Holmes Kirby; her brother Matthew R. Kirby and his anticipated daughter. She was the granddaughter of Louella B. Holmes Duffel (Arthur) and the late Robert M. Holmes, Mason M. Kirby, Jr. (Virginia), and Nancy Rousselle Hill. She was the niece of Wayne (Debbie) Holmes, Michael R. Holmes, Jan Marie Kirby, and the late Mason M. Kirby, III. She was the Godmother of Cole James Callais and the fiancé of Damien R. Dillard and his children, Clementine, Matilda, Emmett and Louisa. She is also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.
Allyson was a 2005 graduate of Buras High School and of Nicholls State University in 2010 from which she earned a Bachelor’s in Accounting. She was an employee of K & B Industries of Schriever, LA until the pandemic. She especially enjoyed cruises with her family as well as spending time with her fiancé, his children and her many friends. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Thibodaux Regional Medical Center and the Thibodaux Family Clinic for their professional, compassionate, and heartfelt care of Allyson during her suffering.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 8968 Highway 23 in Belle Chasse, LA on Monday, February 8, 2021 from 9am to 11am. A Funeral Mass will follow. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.
