Allen A. Chartier

August 3, 1935 — December 7, 2020

Allen A. Chartier, age 85, passed away on December 7, 2020. A lifelong resident of Plaquemines Parish, Allen was born on August 3, 1935 to the late Theodore M. Chartier and the late Alva Buras. Allen is preceded in death by his siblings Thomas Chartier, Eve Guidry (the late Eric), Adam Chartier (Shirley), Gerald “Jerry” Chartier (the late Sylvia “Tuts”), Joseph Chartier, Carl Chartier (the late “Netty”). Allen is survived by four generations of nieces and nephews. Allen was a commercial fisherman and worked out of Buras, LA. He loved to make decoys, build and work on boats, watching game shows, and was a great story teller about past times. He never met a stranger and loved a good joke. Allen was a veteran of the US Army. Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass Friday, December 11, 2020 at 11AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 28683 LA-23, in Port Sulphur. Visitation will begin at 10AM at St. Patrick Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Good Harbor Cemetery in Buras, LA.
