Cwo-4 William H. Cox, U.S.M.C. (Ret)

CWO-4 William Harold Cox, U.S.M.C. (Ret) passed away on July 12, 2014 at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband of Katsuko Kawakomi Cox. Father of Mika Culpepper and Robert Cox. Grandfather of Lacey Culpepper, Misty Cox, Robert Cox Jr., Jacob Cox and Jade Cox. Great-grandfather of Myla Cox. Brother of Tim Cox, Jim Cox, Sandy Vallee, Chip Hanson and the late Bob Hanson. Son of the late Harold Cox and Lois McAllister. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Chief Cox served his country for 4 years in the U.S. Navy, for 33 years in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. With his battlefield commission in Vietnam, he achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant, completing time in the enlisted, non-commissioned, commissioned and warrant officer ranks. He was a skilled and respected band leader, accomplished at the drums, piano and all band instruments. His heart was always with the Marine Corps and was proud of his military service. “Semper Fi”.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Friday, July 18, 2014 from 10 AM to 1:30 PM. Services with military honors will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment will take place at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
