Virgil "Sonny" Eugene Hamblen

Virgil “Sonny” Eugene Hamblen, son of Carle and Fabaria Carpenter, passed away in his home on September 27, 2014 at the age of 52 years. He was the loving father to Ashley Lee Hamblen and caring grandfather to Layla, Matthew and Thomas. He is survived by one brother, Marcus Carpenter and three sisters, Karrie Robicheaux, Janet Hamblen and Carla Lacour.
To those who knew him knew that he was a stern and bold man, yet kind hearted and sentimental. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Denham Springs, LA and his most inspirational Bible verse was Matthew 3:16.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Thursday, October 2, 2014 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Services will follow in the funeral home chapel. He will be laid to rest in Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery in Waggaman.
