Victor J. Balbuena

Victor J. Balbuena, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 19, 2018 at the age of 94. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evangelina and Felipe Balbuena; siblings, Felipe Balbuena and Evalidia Couillard. He is the beloved husband of Antonia F. “Nica” Balbuena. He is the loving father of Elany Balbuena-Rome (David E. Rome) and Victor M. Balbuena (Lisa Smith Balbuena). He is the devoted grandfather “Abo” of Jonathan Balbuena and Victoria Balbuena. He is beloved brother of Miguel Balbuena (Melba) and Juan Balbuena (Tita). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Victor was a retired inside machinist with Avondale Shipyard. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A special thank you to Dr. Hector Cabrera and the Notre Dame Hospice team, especially Kim Lacombe and Milagros Calix; and caregiver, Rosa Elena Lemus for all their compassionate care. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Friday, March 23, 2018 beginning at 1:00 PM followed by a Funeral Mass at 3:00 PM at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA. Private family Interment at a later date.
