Sidney Joseph Steib, Sr.

SIDNEY JOSEPH STEIB, SR., a World War II Army veteran, passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at the age of 92. Beloved husband of the late Beulah Edith Sevin Steib. Son of the late Donald Steib and Emelia Rodrigue Steib. Loving father of Sylvia S. Shally (James), Mary S. Brunet (the late Raleigh), Nola S. Albritton (Marty), Sidney J. Steib, Jr. (Gayle), Paula S. LeBlanc (Joey), Sandra S. Cross (Kerry), Michael P. Steib (Vickie), and one deceased infant daughter. Brother of Margaret Naquin and the late Lise Falgout, Irene Bourgeois, Pauline Perez, Lucille, Whitney, Julien, Firmin and Paul Steib. Grandfather of 14 grandchildren, one deceased granddaughter, and 14 great-grandchildren. A native of Vacherie, LA and a resident of Westwego, LA for the past 68 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. During that time, he was stationed in the European Theater, was awarded the Bronze Star and achieved the rank of Sergeant. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Heart of Hospice along with Ray Theriot, Randy Theriot and Pam Breaux for their care and compassion shown during this difficult time.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, August 30, 2014 from 1 PM to 3 PM. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery, Westwego, LA.
