Robert "Uncle Bob" Valentine Zang, 82, of Marrero, LA, entered into eternal rest at home on Saturday, August 12, 2017, after a long courageous battle with Metastatic Cancer. He was born on February 11,1935, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He served our country through the United States Army. He was a funny, loving, caring religious man and a long time employee and superintendent for Hacienda Construction. Loving godfather to Monica Ramos Fontenette and Lynn Zang Seger. Bob is survived by his Adopted family, whom he resided with and was dearly loved by...Ramon Ramos Sr., Mary Ramos, Monica Ramos Fontenette (Sean), Ramon Ramos Jr (Blanca), and Jose Ramos (Jessecua) as well as his adopted great grandchildren, Mileena, Ayden, Baylee, Ramon Matthew, Chevy, Ethan, Kyle, and Cameron. He also leaves behind his beloved brothers and sisters, Joseph Zang (Mary), Raymond Zang (Dottie), George Zang, Don Zang (Arlene), Phil Zang (Pat), Shirley Zang Fox, and Marilyn Zang Cummings; His children, Cynthia Langston, Rene Steinkamp, and Steven Zang; his grandchildren, Jena and Jessica Steinkamp, and Tony Salcido. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous loving and caring friends. He's preceded in death by his parents, Otto Zang and Helen Jester Zang, his brother Charles Zang, his brothers- in-law, John "Jack" Fox and Robert Cummings, sister-in-law, Lois Hamilton Zang, and his niece, Robin Zang Broxterman. The family sincerely thanks Notre Dame Hospice for taking awesome care of Robert. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 6PM until 11PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Monday, August 21, 2017 from 10AM until 1PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 1PM. Interment will be in Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, LA.
