Ralph Lee Hicks Sr.

Ralph Lee Hicks, Sr., beloved husband of Carolyn Turner Hicks, of Gretna, LA, passed away surrounded by family on September 21, 2017. He was 73 years old. Ralph is survived by his sister, Judith Jordan Hambrick and her husband Don Hambrick, of New Mexico; his son, Ralph Lee Hicks, Jr. and his wife Rebecca Brenner Hicks, of Covington, LA; his stepdaughter, Elizabeth Fulda, of Gretna; and his stepson, Adrian Fulda and his wife Crystal Fulda, of Covington, LA. He is also survived by his grandsons Kenton and Carson, and step granddaughters Sarah Zeringue and Emily Fulda.
Ralph was born on November 18, 1943 in Mobile, AL. Beloved son of the late Evelyn Moore and stepfather, the late Thomas Jordan, of Bogalusa, LA. Ralph attended the Louisiana Tech University graduating with a degree in electrical engineering 1965. At Louisiana Tech he was a member of Eta Kappa Nu, a national electrical engineering honor society, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Ralph worked for South Central Bell, Shell Oil, C.E. Natco, Production Management, and started his own companies R. Hicks and Associates, Pro Comp, Inc. and Petro Designs. During his career he became known as an International Expert on Glycol Dehydration having published several articles in industry magazines and publications. He also wrote and holds patents on several major computers programs that are still used by many companies in the oil industry today.
A loving husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather, Ralph was always there to support his family and friends in any way possible. He will be remembered as a loveable and generous soul to all those who knew him.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 11 AM until 1:30 PM followed by Memorial Service at 1:30 PM. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ralph's life.
