Priscilla Nicosia Blanchard, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the age of 67 surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her loving father, John R. Nicosia; mother and father-in-law, Rena Mae Blanchard and Robert J. Blanchard Sr. Priscilla is the beloved wife of 47 years of Royce Jude Blanchard. She is the loving and devoted mother of Barrett Royce Blanchard (Cristina Triana Blanchard). She is the devoted grandmother of Lyla Rose Blanchard and Royce Jude Blanchard II. She is the cherished daughter of Florence Allemand Nicosia. She is the loving sister of Keith J. Nicosia. She is the sister-in-law of Rhonda Blanchard Barbier (Jimmy), Robert J. Blanchard Jr. (Pat), Ryan J. Blanchard (Barbara), Randy J. Blanchard (Earline), Rory J. Blanchard (Karen), Rudy J. Blanchard (Bernie), Rennis J. Blanchard (Kitty) and Victoria S. Nicosia. She is also survived by Godson, Blake J. Nicosia; nieces and nephews, Melissa, Brett (Holly), Blair (Lacie), Kelly, Justin (Ramie), Brittani (Nick), Ashley, Josh, Hanna, Lance, Emma, Randy (Jessica), Roger (Amber) and specially devoted cousin, Cynthia Ullo Robbins (Robby); other family and friends. Priscilla was the salutatorian of the 1967 graduating class of Immaculata High School and an honors graduate of the 1968 class of Meadows Draughon Business College. She was a 38- year employee of Sunland Construction Company (formerly H.B. “Buster” Hughes Inc.). Priscilla will be forever remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thankyou to the Passages Hospice staff and her special caregivers, Betty Del Alcazar, Gayle Plaisance, Samantha Bairnsfather, Janet Daussin and Victoria S. Nicosia for their devoted and tender care. A special thanks to Dr. Patricia Estrada for her compassionate care, comfort and love given to Priscilla as well. Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA. The following morning on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, the Visitation will continue beginning at 9:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM all at St. Rosalie Catholic Church, 600 2nd Avenue, Harvey, LA. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations and memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association .
