Pauline Petkovich Storc

September 15, 1941 — April 3, 2018

Pauline Petkovich Storc died on April 3, 2018, at the age of 76. She was born September 15, 1941 in Youngstown, Ohio and grew up in the Village of McDonald, a steel mill town in eastern Ohio. Affectionately called by her nickname “Sissy”, she and her twin brother Paul were the youngest of six siblings. Pauline is survived by her daughters Daneen Ann Storc of New Orleans and Julie Elizabeth Relan and husband Bennie Frank Relan of Belle Chasse; four grandchildren: River Benjamin Relan and Noah Ramsey Relan of Belle Chasse and Russell Storc Brown and Cody Makar Brown of New Orleans; and by her sister Julia Cohol and brother Paul Petkovich, both of Girard, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her mother Elizabeth Makar Petkovich and Yugoslavian immigrant father Stefan Petkovich, her brothers Eli Petkovich, Adam Petkovich, and Daniel Petkovich, and her sister Mary A. Loychik. Pauline married in 1963. As a military spouse, she made homes for her husband and daughters as they moved around the country on tours of duty with the United States Navy. The family was assigned posts in California, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Michigan, and finally New Orleans. No matter where she lived, Pauline remained a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Browns. Later in her life, Pauline moved to Montana for several years, where she worked for the state as an administrative assistant, and enjoyed hiking in the mountains and observing wildlife and nature. She returned to New Orleans in 1997 to be closer to her daughters, and worked as an administrative assistant for Tulane University Medical Center. She adored her four grandsons and made up special names for each of them. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service for Pauline at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Boulevard in Marrero, Louisiana on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 4pm. Visitation will begin at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Brain Aneurysm Foundation at bafound.org.
